INTERVIEWS

We decided to go with interview method to extract qualitative data from 5 users. The target user were couples between 28 and 40 years old that tend to go to the supermarket together. We asked the below questions to know more about their routines:

Interviews: Testimonios

How often do you buy groceries?

“We usually buy groceries twice a week”

Which one of you does the shopping normally? Why?

“We usually go to the supermarket/store together because we split tasks, for example when one of us wait to be attended in the sausage stand, the other picks up the rest of items”

“We go together because we share the bags weight”

What happens when any of you cannot go? How do you plan the shopping list?

“When one of us cannot go to the supermarket, the other will buy only the urgent items”
“We don’t always have a written list because we agree on the list by voice, normally before leaving”
“ When one of us cannot go, we remind each other about the missing items via whatsapp or notes in the cellphone.”

How do you pay the shopping?

“We pay through a shared credit card with common funds and/or pay one of us each time. When paying one each time, we add the spend to an external app like splitwise”

What do you consider the biggest pain point of sharing the groceries shopping list? Why?

“The biggest problem is having to send a whatsapp to remind about the missing items before leaving, or not preparing a list, because sometimes we might forget about critical items”

“Preparing a list is difficult because we have different work schedules”
